Gertrude Nyce awarded Recognition of Eminence

The Recognition of Eminence Award was presented to Gertrude S. Nyce, KK. Gertrude lived as a missionary most of her life, receiving her master’s degree in religious education and learning Urdu and Punjabi languages in order to work and live in India. Gertrude was a member of the executive committee of the Christian Home Movement, was ordained by the United Church for Northern India, Jullundur Cantonment, candidate secretary for the Commission on Ecumenical Mission and Relation of the United Presbyterian Church Mission Board, associate director of health affairs and executive director of the Vellore Christian Medical College Board.

Throughout her life, Gertrude traveled the world and visited several countries in Asia including the Middle East and India and several countries in Africa.
