The first Recognition of Eminence Award was presented to Dr. Ethel J. Alpenfels, BB, an internationally known authority on anthropology and social behavior. Ethel received numerous awards throughout her distinguished career, including the American Women’s Association Woman of the Year for Teaching, the Women’s Auxiliary of Philadelphia’s Albert Einstein Medical Center’s award for distinguished service to humanity and the New York University Alumni Great Teacher of the Year.
