S. June Smith Center merges with Excentia
Alpha Sigma Alpha’s philanthropic partner, the S. June Smith Center, has joined the nonprofit organization Excentia. Together Excentia and the S. June Smith Center provide support to children and adults with developmental needs through their early childhood, life enrichment and residential services.
The S. June Smith Center will provide the early childhood services within Excentia. Jonathan Hollinger, CEO of Excentia commented, “We are proud to have such a reputable organization like the S. June Smith Center join us. The similarity of the two organizations’ mission and commitment to excellence in services are just some of the reasons this merger made sense. We are committed to ensuring that the families and children served by the S. June Smith Center will continue to provide the same high quality service that they have always received from the same S. June Smith Center staff.”
Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority will continue to support the S. June Smith Center through service and charitable giving. Chapters may continue to donate items from the S. June Smith Center wish-list and/or designate monetary gifts to the S. June Smith Center through the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation.
Representatives of the S. June Smith Center and Excentia will join Alpha Sigma Alpha at District 4 District Day in Richmond, VA, and at the 2014 National Convention & Leadership Conference in San Antonio, July 9-12, 2014.
Established in the 1970’s and located in Lancaster, PA, the mission of Excentia is to provide those supports necessary to enable people with developmental needs to live as independently and fully as they desire within the community.
