Beta Gamma Chapter, Northeastern State University, OK, closed
It is with regret that Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority announces the closing of Beta Gamma Chapter at Northeastern State University, OK. The chapter closed June 16, 2014 for violating national policy.
As an organization dedicated to developing women of poise and purpose, Alpha Sigma Alpha will not support activities or behaviors that are in conflict with our core purpose and values. In support of the university’s decision to issue a five-year suspension to the chapter, the national council determined the closure of Beta Gamma Chapter was necessary.
“It is disappointing to close a chapter with such a longstanding history in the national organization,” said National President Nora M. Ten Broeck. “Above all else though, the health, safety and well-being of our members are our utmost concern.”
Collegiate chapter members in good standing are now considered alumnae members of the Sorority.
