How to reengage with your collegiate chapter

As an alumna member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, it can be easy to lose touch with your collegiate chapter over time. With developing a career, starting a family and other life responsibilities, it can be difficult to find time for involvement with your chapter and Alpha Sigma Alpha. But when the time comes where you would like to reengage with your chapter, how do you go about doing so?

One of the best ways to get in touch with your chapter is through personal outreach. Every alumna member is able to see a full contact list for current chapter officers on MyAΣA. After logging into MyAΣA, simply click on the MyChapter tab to see updated information for the chapter. This includes the chapter’s email address, social media accounts and contact information for chapter officer and advisory board members. To learn more about upcoming opportunities for alumnae members, email the collegiate vice president of alumnae & heritage to introduce yourself and express interest in reconnecting with the chapter. If you do not yet have a MyAΣA account, it is easy to make one by following this link! However if you experience difficulty in creating your account, please call national headquarters at (317) 871-2920 for assistance.

The Alumnae Calendar featured on the front page of the Alpha Sigma Alpha website is another great way to learn about upcoming opportunities for alumnae involvement with your collegiate chapter. Chapters are able to promote events open to alumnae membership through this calendar. Events consist of upcoming Ritual ceremonies, Girls on the Run or Special Olympics events, chapter reunions and anniversaries, chapter meetings and more. Members are able to search by “organizer” to see what events are specifically being hosted by their collegiate chapter. If you are an alumna member who does not live near your collegiate chapter but you would still like to be connected with another chapter near you, the calendar can also be searched by location. Event listings will include contact information that you can reach out to with questions.

To ensure you are receiving communications such as emails or newsletters from your chapter, double-check that your contact information is up-to-date with Alpha Sigma Alpha.

There are many benefits to staying involved with your collegiate chapter. You are able to participate in Alpha Sigma Alpha Ritual ceremonies, Founder’s day activities, service & giving initiatives and so much more.
