After thoughtful consideration due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Alpha Sigma Alpha National Council has made the difficult decision to cancel the 51st National Convention & Leadership Conference in-person experience in Kansas City, MO. Alpha Sigma Alpha is reimagining ways to provide members with the excitement and experience of our national convention in virtual formats. In an effort to assist chapters in conducting business and communicating with members, national headquarters staff has created resources that will provide guidance and information about how to engage virtually.  Resources can be found in the new Officer Portal document library folder called Virtual Engagement. Resources will be added regularly.

In response to the CDC’s recommendation to limit interactions and to stay home as much as possible, as well as to the declared state of emergency in Indiana, Alpha Sigma Alpha will be modifying national headquarters business operations. The national headquarters facility will be closed March 16-27, 2020. During this time the headquarters staff will be working remotely.

Statement regarding leadership consultant, staff and volunteer visits to chapters.

The health and safety of Alpha Sigma Alpha members, volunteers, employees and guests is our number one priority. Alpha Sigma Alpha headquarters staff is working diligently on chapter preparations in response to the COVID-19 virus.

We recognize our members may be impacted by the many colleges and universities that are altering the delivery of their classes to online education and have varying degrees of disrupted campus activities.

In response to inquires we are receiving, we have distributed the guidelines and resources shared below.

  • March 11, 2020: email to chapter presidents, chapter advisors and region volunteers with a resource regarding how to respond to the changes in university schedules.
  • March 5, 2020: email to chapter presidents, wellness chairmen and chapter advisors with information about health and wellness tips

We encourage members to stay aware and informed by reading any information shared by your college/university and monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website for details about the coronavirus, how it spreads and what you can do to help protect yourselves and your sisters.
