How do I join?
Alpha Sigma Alpha chapters support an environment where collegiate women can realize their full potential and continually develop as women of poise and purpose. If any woman is interested in contacting the collegiate chapter on her campus directly please contact Alpha Sigma Alpha National Headquarters so you can be provided with the contact information for the collegiate officer on that campus who oversees recruitment.
Aspire, Seek, Attain with Alpha Sigma Alpha
Potential members
When you share similar values and a desire to better the world, you know that you are meant to be an Alpha Sigma Alpha. When joining Alpha Sigma Alpha, a woman joins for life and becomes part of a rich history. Sorority sisters will impact your life in countless ways.
Alpha Sigma Alpha has three stages of membership - new member, initiate and alumna. Once a woman joins Alpha Sigma Alpha, she is considered a new member and will be matched with a ruby sister, who is a mentor and sister that can answer questions and be a supportive sister.
In each phase of membership, a member continues to grow. The four modules in our membership education program, ΑΣΑ Advantage, support each phase. They are the new member module, initiate module, senior module and alumna module. Members support each other and work together as they participate in the Advantage modules. For more information about the Advantage, click here.
Joining Alpha Sigma Alpha
"You are a member of a strong sorority, one that ranks among the best in the world, live it talk it, dream it, work for it." - Phoenix of Alpha Sigma Alpha, 1914
Alpha Sigma Alpha is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), thus meaning we follow all NPC guidelines for recruitment. There are many ways you can join Alpha Sigma Alpha. You can participate in the formal recruitment process on campus, attend a chapter event or meet members through class and student activities. To participate in formal recruitment, please contact your campus Panhellenic office or Greek office for the dates of formal recruitment as well as how to register.
Alpha Sigma Alpha also offers potential new members the opportunity to participate in a process called continuous recruitment (CR). There are fewer Panhellenic rules for CR because it is an informal process. Chapter members may meet potential members through chapter activities, intramurals, participating in a community service or by helping with a campus event.
For more information or have questions about recruitment opportunities on your campus, please contact your local panhellenic/student affairs office.
Alumnae can also be a part of recruitment
Alumnae who know women of character can recommend women for membership, through the recruitment referral form. You can find a copy of Alpha Sigma Alpha's reference form on the Alpha Sigma Alpha web site. To inquire about legacies and chapter information, please contact Alpha Sigma Alpha national headquarters.
