Alpha Sigma Alpha expands to Clayton State University

Alpha Sigma Alpha is proud to announce that it will be starting a new colony at Clayton State University in Morrow, GA, for the 2008-09 school year. Alpha Sigma Alpha will be the first NPC group on their campus.

Clayton State University is located 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta in a beautiful lakeside setting. With an enrollment of 6,000 students, Clayton State has experienced significant growth over the past six years.

The University is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as having the most diverse student population among comprehensive baccalaureate-level colleges and universities in the Southern United States. For more information about Clayton State University visit www.clayton.edu.

Alpha Sigma Alpha welcomes the Central Florida Alumnae Chapter

Theta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha installation set for April 5

The National Council of Alpha Sigma Alpha announces the installation of Theta Zeta Chapter at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

Members are reminded to wear white and gold ribbons beneath their badges for four days, Friday, April 4 through Monday, April 7, in honor of our newest chapter.

Registration is now open for the 45th Biennial Alpha Sigma Alpha National Convention and Leadership Conference! The early bird registration deadline is April 21 – so register today.

Registration information

  • Early registration fee is $250, the deadline to submit registration is April 21.
  • General registration fee is $275, the deadline to submit registration is June 13.
  • Daily registration fee is $150 per day.
  • Late registration is $375 and is available June 13-23.
  • Accommodations package includes sleeping room with two double beds, one breakfast, two lunches and two dinners.

  • Four people to a room – $265
  • Three people to a room – $305
  • Two people to a room – $390
  • One person to a room – $635

Emporium information

Alpha Sigma Alpha is looking for people to be part of the emporium at the national convention and leadership conference. The emporium will be held on Friday, July 18 from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Booth space is free for Alpha Sigma Alpha alumnae members and $25 for all other vendors. The emporium is a great place for Greek merchandise, local crafts and gifts, home-business owners and even alumnae chapters who would like to raise money. For more information, please review the emporium guidelines below and complete a registration form to reserve your booth.

Tour information

A 90-minute ghost tour of Old Town Albuquerque

Legends, folklore, ghost stories and history come to life as real Ghost Hunters lead you on an intriguing excursion through 300 years of haunted history.

  • Ticket Prices: $20 adults, $18 seniors 55+, $16 with college ID
  • Tickets for the ghost will be available at the hospitality table when you check in on Wednesday. Please visit this table to reserve your ticket for Thursday evening.

Transportation to Sandia Resort and Casino

“Close to Home, Far from Ordinary.” At the foothills of the majestic Sandia Mountains, sits a resort close to the heavens and far from commonplace. It offers spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains, Rio Grande River Valley and the greater Albuquerque area.

  • Ticket price: $35 – includes transportation and driver gratuity – 5 hours total
Note: Tickets for the tour of the Sandia Resort and Casino will need to be purchased through Destination Southwest. Please complete the tour registration form and return to Destination Southwest. Do not send this form or payment to national headquarters.

Dinner at El Pinto Restaurant

Enjoy a buffet dinner at El Pinto Restaurant, located in the heart of the beautiful Rio Grande Valley, and regarded by locals and visitors alike as the place for the finest in traditional New Mexican cuisine. Menu includes guacamole and chile con queso, tossed salad with vinaigrette, red chile cheese enchiladas, green chile chicken enchiladas, meat carving station, Aztec corn, beans and rice, roasted new potatoes and flan for dessert. Served with tostadas, jalapeno salsa, sopapillas and honey, coffee and tea.

  • Ticket price: $75 – includes transportation, buffet dinner, driver gratuity

New program offered for alumnae and graduating seniors

Alpha Sigma Alpha is pleased to announce a new program called Wi$e Up. Wi$e Up is a financial education program designed for Generation X and Y women. It was developed by the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau. It only takes a minute to register and begin your journey to financial freedom!
