About the Foundation

Your gifts underwrite programs that benefit collegians, alumnae, and women of all ages. The Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation is committed to promoting service, leadership and lifelong learning through its financial support of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and its members. Listed below are several examples of the leading-edge programs and experiences made possible by the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation. The opportunities are truly inexhaustible.

Service

The spirit of giving is a powerful part of being an Alpha Sigma Alpha. Members share their gifts, talents, finances, time and resources with each other and their communities.

• AΣA Advantage is a leading-edge lifetime membership development initiative designed for all Alpha Sigma Alphas. Through AΣA Advantage, members are given the tools needed to successfully focus their attention on philanthropy and hands-on community service.
• Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation makes grants to the S. June Smith Center, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the Special Olympics. Both organizations provide assistance to those who are mentally or physically challenged.

Leadership

Knowing that leadership requires specific skills, courage, and lifelong reinforcement, the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation is deeply committed to training, mentoring, and follow-up.

• The Emma Coleman Frost Leadership Development Institute provides our undergraduate emerging leaders with the hands-on experiences needed to develop the skills needed to be confident, trustworthy leaders, not only for Alpha Sigma Alpha, but also for our society.
• The Alpha Sigma Alpha leadership consultant program helps to provide our chapters and members with hands-on experiences and one-of-a-kind opportunities for leadership and personal development.
• District Day is an opportunity for local alumnae and undergraduate members to celebrate their successes, focus on personal development and gain important operational training that will give them an advantage as leaders, students and employees.

Lifelong Learning

Curiosity, critical thinking, and intellectual discipline are qualities prized by Alpha Sigma Alpha members at any age. Alpha Sigma Alpha supports the spirit of expanding the mind and reaching for new information and life lessons by giving members the opportunity to develop their academic potential and participate in personal development programming that enables them to be stronger, wiser and more perceptive members of their communities.
