Alpha Sigma Alpha recognizes the importance of preserving our history through our national archives collection, chapter history reporting and chapter scrapbooks.
Our national headquarters is home to our archives museum. Other archival items not on display are also stored at national headquarters.
Membership badges are an important part of Alpha Sigma Alpha history and occasionally they are sold on auction sites such as eBay, at estate sales or pawnshops. Alpha Sigma Alpha believes:
Wearing your badge signifies that you have made a
commitment to ΑΣΑ, a lifetime commitment.
Due to the responsibility signified by wearers of the Alpha Sigma Alpha membership badge, those badges should remain within the organization.
All Alpha Sigma Alpha items are returned to the chapter if a new member leaves the chapter prior to initiation or membership is terminated. The chapter should forward membership badges to national headquarters.
Alpha Sigma Alpha membership badges should be returned to national headquarters upon the death of a member, unless she has bequeathed her badge to an heir or wishes to be buried with it. While it is recommended the badge be returned to national headquarters, this is not required.
