Advisors
Chapter advisory board members are the primary support for a specific chapter operational area and chapter officer. The advisory board makes sure the chapter is functioning smoothly and meeting the chapter commitments. The advisory board members provide consistency, stability, maturity and a national perspective to the chapter. The chapter advisor heads this advisory team. Collegiate chapters consistently change with each new member that joins the chapter and as each senior graduates into alumna membership. The role of advisors, though, remains consistent no matter how much the make-up of the collegiate chapter may change. The time, support and dedication that advisors give to collegiate chapters is immeasurable and greatly appreciated.
Advisors have a variety of different resources that will be used in their position. Advisor documents pertinent to each position can be found on the Alpha Sigma Alpha Officer Portal. If you forget your log-in or password for the Officer Portal, please contact Pat Crosby at asa@alphasigmaalpha.org. All advisors should check the Officer Portal on a regular basis for updates.
The Alpha Sigma Advisor Handbook is also a great resource for all advisors, new and old.
Alpha Sigma Alpha also strives to keep all advisors connected through the Advisor Express, an e-newsletter for all Alpha Sigma Alpha advisors.
A volunteer position has been integrated into the district volunteer structure to provide additional resources and coaching for advisors. These volunteers are district advisory board liaisons and represent their respective districts throughout the country. These volunteers serve as a resource for advisor training and offer support and advice for advisors. Please feel free to reach out to the advisory board liaison in your district. Contact information for these volunteers can be found on the volunteer directory posted on the Officer Portal.
